The Nicaraguan Diaspora - California, is a non-profit organization, established with the purpose of promoting human rights, education, community's well-being, helping to integrate Nicaraguans that recently arrived in the United States who have fled away from Nicaragua due to the repression that Nicaragua has been going through since the events of April 2018.
Mostly of those who have taken advantage of the Humanitarian Parole, or applied for Political Asylum. We help to integrate people into the daily life of the country, teaching them how to access to the education and health system and finding information about how annd were to find a job. We provide the information that is necessary for them be able to grow and take advantage of their skills and serve or integrate to this community.
We help find organizations that provide health services then they can receive treatment for any illness or to get medical assistance when they require it.
Our purpose is to collaborate with local, state or federal authorities, reducing the chances that new visitors find themselves living on the streets and are recruited by organized crime and ultimately end up committing criminal acts and may affect their immigration status.
We intend to get those who are already experiencing social problems out of the streets and help them to seek for their rehabilitation and be able to get involved into daily life, working honestly, studying and being an exemplary citizen.
The Diaspora of Nicaragua - California is not involved in politics or religion, but we are promoters of human rights, that is why we seek at the same time to return Nicaragua to the Path of Democracy, Human Rights and Freedom of Expression, rights that have been taken away from thousand. Many Nicaraguans have been expelled from their own homeland and being forced to go to the exile and live abroad with no tools, no knowing how to start a new life in a different country.
